Job – Knowledge Exchange & Impact Officer

Nottingham Trent University is launching the NTU Civic Think Tank – a new centre to rethink, test and evaluate responses to some of the biggest social challenges facing the communities we are part of. Working purposefully with a range of civil society partners, and in close partnership with the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), we’ll facilitate new research and encourage imaginative ways to maximise the impact of our existing work.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to provide pro-active, tailored support, advice and guidance to the NTU academic community and external partners on maximising the impact of our research.

Reporting to the Director of the Civic Think Tank, you will work closely with key stakeholders to develop research and knowledge exchange projects, maintain an overview of research expertise across NTU and identify, support and evidence the impact of our research activities.

This role is an exciting opportunity for a professional who already has a successful record of research and knowledge exchange activities. The successful appointee will need to build effective working relationships with colleagues in the academic schools, other areas within the University and with a range of external individuals and institutions. Highly developed communication, influencing and networking skills are therefore vital for this post. You will be an organised administrator, creative and strategic thinker and a responsive team player with demonstrable skills in working with a team to provide integrated support.

Experience of translating complex ideas to non-academic audiences is a must, and experience of working with policy-making environments or Think Tanks would be an advantage.
