NC3Rs public engagement grant

The National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research invites applications for its public engagement awards. These support NC3Rs-funded researchers to engage the public with the approaches being taken to replace, reduce and refine animal use in science. The aim is to share the benefits of the centre’s research to science and society, and promote thought-provoking events across the UK for a range of different audiences.

Applicants must be a current or previous recipient of an NC3Rs grant, fellowship or studentship. They must be based in a non-profit, academic institution. The events must take place within six months of receiving the award.

Awards are worth up to £1,500, and may be used to develop almost any type of event or activity aimed at the public, including laboratory open days, hands-on workshops, informal discussions with public groups, school visits, exhibitions as part of a local science events, or a partnership event with a local community group or scientific society.
