Royal Society Partnership Grants Scheme

The next round of the Royal Society’s Partnership Grants scheme opens in February 2018.  This scheme offers up to £3000 to schools (primary and secondary) to complete an investigative project with a STEM partner, from industry or from research. They have changed things around slightly this year to make it easier to access this funding and schools will be invited to submit basic details to round 1 of the application process. Once approved you will be eligible to enter round 2, where the bulk of the application process will be found.  It’s now a really good time to start thinking about your project ideas and making links with your STEM partner – please see the digital flyer (attached below) for further information.

In addition to this,  they are planning on running a CPD event for teachers who have had little or no experience of carrying out investigative projects. This will take place at the Royal Society on 1st march 2018. The CPD session will be part of the Royal Society’s Student Conference where schools that have completed Partnership Grants will be showcasing their work. This year, they will be joined by Nuffield students, IRIS students and Gold CREST Award students so it will be a great opportunity for you to come along and meet experienced teachers and scheme organisers. If you think this CPD event is for you, then please register here for this free event.
