A great opportunity for anyone at post doctorate level, with a physics, chemistry or engineering based background able to step in on Tuesday 4th October to do a Cafe Scientifique.
Café Scientifique meets on the first Tuesday of each month, in the cellar bar of Pure Bar and an invited speaker talks for about 30-40 minutes before an hour of Q & A and discussion led by the audience. The event starts at 7pm and ends at 9pm and there is no PowerPoint or equivalent, just discussion. We are able to show video and images if needed. The closest I can liken it to is when you meet someone in a pub for the first time and they ask you what you do for a living and then really interested in what you say in reply!
Our audience is really varied, with a complete mixture of ages, backgrounds and interests. Typically, around half of the audience come to all of the events and half are there specifically for the topic of the evening.
