‘Funny Things’ open meeting

Jenny Smith is producing Funny Things for Creative Black Country. It’s the first comedy festival in Wolverhampton (no pressure!). This festival is going to explore humour in lots of way, not just through stand-up comedy. If your practice involves humour in any way then please get in touch. She really wants to make sure the festival is open and inclusive, ensuring it provides a platform for marginalised voices. If you use humour and art to tell your truth, please get in touch. If your practice enables people to tell their truth through participation, and find humour in their story, then this could be the festival for you. She wants to hear from artists who work in any art form, from anywhere, but particularly from the Black Country. She is also looking for unusual and interesting venues in Wolverhampton. Please email her: funnythingswolves@gmail.com

There are different ways to get involved. You can find out more by coming to an open meeting at 6pm on 6th April at Wolverhampton Art Gallery. RSVP by 31st March to rosalind@creativeblackcountry.co.uk

Jenny is programming acts into various events and venues between 26th October and 5th November.

There is also an open call artist commission and an Open Access Awards, a funding stream for local community groups and projects.

Please get in touch if you’d like to chat about how you could be involved. Please email Jenny: funnythingswolves@gmail.com
