The Royal Society of Biology are currently looking to recruit a Biology Week intern, to help their communications and public engagement team with the running of this year’s Biology Week.
They are offering a paid placement for 10 weeks here in their London office, suitable for anyone who has bags of enthusiasm for biology and looking to venture into science communication.
They are looking for an intern to help in the run up to, during, and after Biology Week. Their responsibilities will be to help coordinate and assist in the curation, development, promotion and evaluation of events. The intern will also assist with the press and communications work surrounding the week as a whole.
Events throughout the week include an annual parliamentary reception, a photography and science communication award ceremony, an expert-led debate at the Royal Institution, a bioscience careers day, alongside events led by our teams of volunteers in the UK and aboard.
Job listing is here, and applications close on the 19 July
If you have any questions about the role, do not hesitate to contact Philippa, who started off as a Biology Week intern at the RSB four years ago.
Also, if you have any events taking place in biology week (7th to the 15th of October), let her know! They’ll be launching our digital packs soon for more organisations to get involved, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
