Last month the British Science Association invited senior leaders from a range of organisations across the UK to a one-off event. ‘Leading science engagement in a changing world’ was hosted by Royal Society of Chemistry, and was supported by the Institute of Physics and the Wellcome Trust. The aim was to provide a space for honest, open dialogue particularly around the issues of diversity, evidence, and strategic direction for science engagement.
You can find a summary of the discussions and initial ideas from ‘Leading science engagement in a changing world’ on their website here. Going forward, they’re keen for the BSA’s work in this area to be informed by anyone working in science engagement or related fields.
In particular, they’d be really interested to hear:
- Which of these ideas and issues stand out to you? Would you like to help take an idea forward?
- What are you and your collaborators already working on?
- What would you like to see more of?
