Medial Mavericks are currently looking for an enthusiastic presenter to help us deliver a series of Assemblies to schools across the West Midlands throughout November, December, January and February.
The Assemblies are showcasing amazing careers in the NHS and last anything from 8 minutes (we did a 5 minute one the other day!!!) to 30 minutes. Some days there will be one school, sometimes two per day!!
There are a couple of really cool demos you get to play with like recording an ECG from someone’s heart or taking a picture of the inside of someone’s retina and optic disc with an iPhone (get it… eye – phone…)
Plus we have lots of workshops coming up, that we deliver in schools all over the UK, where we take a real hospital into schools. Students then get to play with real medical kit and discover the fab careers they can go into. We would love to get you involved in these too.
We are looking for someone that is ideally:
- Based in the West Midlands
- Can drive (don’t necessarily need a car – we can help with that, but if you have one, great!)
- Wants to build some experience presenting and visiting lots of different schools and venues.
- Has an interest in biology, physiology, medical / health…. but again, if you just love science, that is good enough for us!
We can train you up, provide the script and kit… basically make tip top for the job.
Plus you get to wear scrubs.
Salary: £18,000 pro rata
Hours per week – variable… we assemblies booked in from now until schools break up in Dec and into Jan & Feb.
Start date: straight away!
This is a temporary role for the short term. However, we have plans for permanent posts in the new year too!
How to apply: Send an email, drawing, video or something that explains why you would be great at this role to: hello@medicalmavericks.co.uk
Thanks
Tom
