Science & Heritage Career Ladder Programme

Birmingham Museums Trust are advertising for six Trainee Enablers; a wonderful opportunity for young people to gain paid work experience over the summer holiday.

“Are you confident, outgoing and have a passion for science? Our successful Science and Heritage Career Ladder Programme, has been running for almost ten years at Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum, and aims to get young people (aged 16 and 17) interested in science communication and understanding the broader context of working in a museum.

We are now recruiting participants for this year’s programme and welcome applications for 6 Trainee Enabler roles. Successful candidates will receive on-the-job training to develop transferable skills. This paid role is public-facing and successful candidates will form part of the Museum Enabler team that interacts with visitors on a daily basis in the museum, explaining the science and history of objects and exhibits as well as assisting with activities.”

Duration: Wednesday 27th July to end of August 2016
Hours: 9.15am – 5.10pm for 16 days
Pay: £4.20 per hour, gross
