The EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Food is a collaboration between the Biomaterials Group (University of Nottingham), the Centre for Formulation Engineering (University of Birmingham) and the Centre for Sustainable Manufacture and Recycling Technologies (Loughborough University). It started in December 2013 and is currently delivering against a research portfolio valued at £10m, with more than 50 industry members.
The Centre Outreach Officer will have 5 major roles: 1) outwardly promoting the centre, 2) working with lead academics in promoting new directions, 3) providing open access to the food community, 4) horizon scanning, 5) coordinating the outreach activities which include dissemination to industry and the scientific community, short-term exploratory projects, publications in international journals, presentations at international conferences and trade shows, and hosting workshops and conferences.
The Outreach Officer will also retain an operational level understanding of the research activities linking discovery to implementation through membership of the Leadership Executive and the Advisory Board, being responsible for identifying ways in which proof-of-principle scale-up opportunities are taken in a timely fashion, and to ensure the wide-ranging impact of the fundamental research.

Salary: £28,982 to £37,768 Per annum
